The "Killer Ads"
Dr. Bob,
Quality counts. Not only did the "Killer Ad" bring in patients, it brought in
patients who say that they will be with me for life. Perhaps best of all is that
I had a blast with the picture of me and my two sons in the ad. We didn't get
any shoppers, thus, we are excited about advertising again.
My community thanks you,
"We are up to 14 new patients now. I really appreciate your help!"
About a week ago I ran the killer ad
insert. I had worked feverishly on my killer ad for
the past month. I have received 24 new patients in
the first week. I actually had a women complain to
me. She was upset that the insert was not in her
paper, and asked if it would be OK to photocopy the
ad.
Oh, that's right! A doctor that called me was
an 86 year old retired chiropractor. He was one of
the first chiropractors in the area. He was ranting
and raving that everyone should have an ad like that
in the paper. He was very impressed with the letter
and wants to take me out to lunch. I owe it all to
you! Thank you! Thank you in advance for your time
and attention. I look forward to speaking with you
soon.
Hi, Dr. Bob.
This is Dr. Dan from Wisconsin. Want to know why
all those "new ads" I bought aren't working? Because
they are sitting on my shelf.
Why are they sitting on my shelf?
Because I can't keep up with all the new people from
the original, "Doctor's Confession" Ad!
I bought your program last spring. I have ran the ad
several times, each one with a teriffic response. I
ran my first for 2002 on January 7th (Monday, of
course), and I still am having trouble finding slots
for new patients. My current total is right around 60
for the month, with about 16-17 already scheduled next
week! I will be adding an associate doctor within 60
days! You are wonderfully appreciated, I'm telling
all of my non-competitor D.C's about your ads!
So, probably my greatest chiropractic problem ever, is
that your new ads aren't working...THANK YOU!
"In February, I put out a Killer Ad and about doubled my practice within a few weeks. In December, I still got someone who remembered my ad and came in as a new patient! For my fellow chiropractors, I urge you to check out the following website http://www.thekillerads.com and check out my few testimonies. It changed my whole life, my family's life, and my banker's life...HA! I had been praying for 6 years to be able to make all of my payments and now I even have leftover money, most of which will go toward income tax... :-( I almost saw 3 times as many new patients in 2000 as in 1999! I was also able to share my faith in Christ with a few patients. "
"A quick note just to say thanks. I just ran my second Killer Ad on Monday,
and before Tuesday at noon we had already scheduled 58 new patients. It's now
Thursday morning 3 1/2 days and we have over 78 new patients on the schedule and
the phones are still ringing off the hook. Those are directly from the ad and
not counting any referrals from those patients.
I had the Killer Ads (materials) sitting on my desk for months without using it.
At the time I averaged 10 to 15 new patients per month with two doctors! I was
so stupid for waiting. I had 60 new patients from my first run in July and have
averaged 30-40 since then just from their referrals."
Dear Dr. Manna,
I did everything that you said. The insert dropped on Dec. 10th and, even though
it was a lousy time of year, we have had a total of 17 new patients with 20
calls!! We are inserting the exact same ad on January 14th and I expect an even
better response. This was an incredible result that has really jump-started the
practice. Thanks so much for your assistance. Your ad concept really works.
Best wishes to you and yours.
Sincerely,
I have run your ad three times now and gained 43 new patients as
a result of it. I have gained more new patients over the last three months
from your ad than I have from my three yellow page ads over the course of a
whole year!!
I have owned and operated eight chiropractic
offices. I found out a long time ago that I was
really bad at the stock market so I began investing in
new doctors. I hired docs out of school, taught them
how to run an office and how to get new patients and
then opened an office for them. I thought I did a
pretty good job until just recently. You see, I
taught them how to do blood pressure screenings and I
dared any one of them to grow a practice faster and
more cost effectively. It never took more than three
months to break even in any one of the offices. The
doctors I have trained in these methods include many
doctors you now know including Dr. Troy Smith, Dr. Joe
Sheppard, Dr. Matt Murdock and dozens more.
NOW I HAVE A CONFESSION. I caused them great
grief, pain and hours of anguish needlessly. They
did't have to go screening those thousands of hours
after all. You see, I recently moved from Cincinnati
to here and opened a practice nine weeks ago.
I used your ads in the two local papers three times
each for a cost of $250/run and one insert of 16K
fliers at a total cost of $1600 more. Let me tell you
about my ROI (return on investment). I have had, to
date, 82 (yes, eighty-two) new patients strictly form
the doctor's confession ad in 9 weeks (SO FAR). Today
is the third day of the ninth week and so far we have
had 213 new patients (directly and indirectly from the
ad) and last week I helped 137 patients. As of
yesterday, We met our overhead which means we broke
even in two months. If I had this ad six years ago, I
would be practicing for the fun of it alone today. I
would say thank you but that is simply not
enough...I'm telling everyone I know instead. I have
called all my old associated and told them that if
they get less than 20 great new patients after they
buy your program, on the first run of the ad, I will
re-imburse them myself.
Please have the naysayers and disbelievers give me a
call at the office-401-789-2000 or on my cell phone at
401-965-8255. I'll show them my new patient log that
tracks where patients heard about us to verify my
stats. They are also welcome to talk to Llora, my
receptionist. She is just as amazed as I am.
Yours in gratitude,
Hey Doc,
Just wanted to let you know....I ran my first Killerad on Sept. 10 and within
three weeks we had scheduled 59 new patients. I was amazed at the quality of
patients and am thrilled that we were still scheduling patients up to the end
of the ad. (We scheduled eight the day before the ad was over!) The referrals
are now rolling in and I am absolutely convinced that this is the BEST THING TO
HIT THE CHIROPRACTIC PROFESSION SINCE THE ADJUSTMENT!!
God Bless You!
I just wanted to give you a heartfelt thank you, again. I just ran my 5th ad and
it was the best yet, 21 people came in so far (previous best 12) and there are a
few days left. With your ads, my future in this great profession has never been
brighter. My confidence in the ads is so high I look forward to writing the check
to my newspaper rep. because I know it will be an investment that pays off.
Until next time...
P.S. Your weekly advertising advice is also very useful and I credit it to my
increase in responses.
"So far we have had 85 new patients from 6 runs
of the same Killer Ad, 5 in the paper and one insert
to 16,000 subscribers."
Dr. Bob,
Love your newsletter and just wanted to to tell you I ran my first Killer Ad
three weeks ago. On a distribution of 10,000 I saw 34 NEW PATIENTS WHO
STAYED FOR CARE!!! It is an absolutely incredible experience.
Thank you,
Dr. Manna
Thank you for your awesome marketing tool. Within 2 weeks I received 18
phone calls from running the insert just one time. I love when the marketing
experts tell you that they don't think this type of ad is a good idea and
then when you tell them the response that you got, they become speechless.
Helping to Raise Healthy Drug Free Families Through Chiropractic,
Yours [ads] really work! I followed your advice TO THE LETTER! My number [of
new patients] is now 15 and counting. I had the lady that cut my hair call me
and tell me how friendly the ad was and how she really felt like it introduced
me to her in a personal way that "doctors really don't do." She said that the
headline "really grabbed my attention and I just had to read what your confession
was." I read your book, Dr. Bob, and what you've said is really true.
The headline was great, the P.S. grabbed their attention, the patient already
has rapport with me, etc. etc. Again, thanks for the help, and I'll continue to
update you on our final results.
Dr. Bob.
I ran the killer ad in Milwaukee's "Journal Sentinel"
yesterday. I received 11 phone calls on the ad and
scheduled 11 new patients. I will let you know of the
results of the next few days here. I am pleased as
punch!
Do you have statistics on follow-up typically the day
or 2,3,4 etc. on how the ad continues to produce after
the Monday it was released? And I would imagine that
when I run this again I will do even better the 2nd
and 3rd times. Is that typically something I could
count on?
Thanks for all of the help. This is great! I ordered
last year, I believe November or December from you,
and have finally run the ad. I have had 3 other D.C's
call and tell me how much they liked the ad,
congratulations, etc. I played softball with my
church team last night and 1/2 of them saw my ad and
told me that they showed their co-workers and were
encouraging them to come in. Thanks again for your
help, encouragement, and expertise.
Dear Dr. Manna,
I purchased your Killer Ad kit in February of this year, and ran my first ad in March. To get to the point, you saved my practice. I, naively, bought a failing practice and was barely making ends meet. After one running of the ad, my practice doubled. I am still reaping its rewards three months later, as people are still occasionally calling in. I'm running it again tomorrow, and I can't wait to see the results.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Your ads were a literal answer to prayer.
Sincerely,
Dr. Manna,
Yours for a chiropractic planet,
“The killer ads are what was missing from my marketing plan. My wife and I
practice together and have a newborn. We have been working our buts off
doing newsletters, screenings, fairs, talks, and door to door promotions to
keep our practice alive (in addition to raising a baby). When I first heard
of Dr. Bob’s ads I said it couldn’t work and that it would be a waste of
money. As more and more of my friends told me of their success I decided to
give it a try. The result our first add… 25 people. We still do all that
other stuff but this was the key missing from our efforts. Thanks Bob.”
"Dear Dr. Manna,
"Beats hanging out in front of Wal-Mart, hands down! Just do it like Dr. Bob
recommend's and don't try to cut corners. Thanks Dr. Bob "
Thank you.
"We have placed two ads in two months. We placed just over 16,000 the first
month to paper our small town and the nearby towns, and got 22 scheduled new
clients within 10 days, and 24 total came from that ad. Six of those signed on
as monthly practice members. The second insert was about 4200, limited to our
small town, and resulted in 18 scheduled clients.
"The ads took me from zero to 54 visits per week within 7 weeks. What a way
to begin a practice! I am very happy with the quality of people walking in the
door. The best are the ones who come from the ad and our evening classes combined.
This past month, that combination led to 100% sign-up rates (all who attended
the classes made appointments).
"Thank you so much for making marketing honest, effective, and in integrity.
We owe you many, many referrals! "
"Here are the final numbers:
"The ad cost me $952.56 (Can.), that includes printing, distribution, and...taxes!
It brought in 34 new patients.
"It brought in (so far) $4135 (Can.).
"The ad yielded a 434% return on the investment (so far).
"The cost per new patient is $28.02 (Can.).
"Here are my comments after all is over:
"I was amazed at the many conditions it brought in. With my little faith, I expected mainly neck and back pain patients, as usual. To show you what I mean, I have someone who came for anxiety problems: not your typical NP!
"People really did act as if they knew me! An old man said "Well, first of all, let me congratulate you for having the 1st baby of the year!", those were his very first words to me!
"Some friends who have known me for years clued up that I could help them by reading my ad. Probably five of them have come in as NP's and I'm expecting a family of 4. Another friend told someone: "It's as if Sylvio was pouring his heart out with all he can give!" That's right! And that's the kind of reaction I was looking for, right?
"I would have to doublecheck, but at least 12 of those 34 NP's came in by teams of 2, that's 6 "couples". Pretty unbelievable since, in most of those cases, I'm sure only one would have come if I didn't put down the 2nd "P.S.".
"At the end of this 3-week period, quite a few of my KillerAd NP's already started to feel much better and, therefore, already started to refer. One of them brought in her husband and also sent her brother my way. She must have been pretty convincing because he also brought in his wife and kids! (Note that the people who were refered by KillerAd NP's are NOT included in the 34 KillerAd NP's since I compute them as "refered" NP's) Having a good workshop helps. Surprisingly, most NP's are interested in coming to a workshop. Last week's held 16 people, this morning's, 14. I'm expecting about 10 for next weeks. That's probably a whole year's worth according to my previous standard!
"I laid off my assistant for over 2 months (december and january). I cut down her hours when she came back to work. My goal was to save money. Well, over the past couple weeks, I had to give her MORE hours than she had before Christmas! This coming week, she'll have more than TWICE the hours I gave her when she first came back to work! I don't think she'll like working that much and I'm pretty sure I'll have to hire another assistant part-time!
"I advise everyone to use the KillerAds. At the end of January, a couple weeks before I did my KillerAd, I had enough vision to improve my report of findings, my workshops and to start doing a written report to my new patients. That was a great move too. It's already doing wonders for my retention. Imagine doubling your retention just before you add 34 NP's in your practice! No wonder I have too much work!
"I was skeptical: would this stuff work in my small town (24,000)? People are very different and unique here (besides the fact that we speak French...). A lot of stuff works great everywhere else but fails here and vice-versa. Would I waste my money advertising once again? Actually, I couldn't even afford to advertise! I thought that if the stuff worked at least 25% as much as you said, it'd be great! Well, it WOOOORKED! At least 20 times as well as anything I've ever done! (With much less efforts too: the best thing I had done so far was a weekly TV show...lots of work!) I didn't expect much more than 10 NP's...I mean that I would have been happy with that many. But I scheduled 14 NP appointments just in the first day after the ad! That day, I spent the first half hour of my morning answering the phone, both lines at the same time (seriously)! I would have never dreamed of seeing 60 patients a day, but I am! If everything goes as I think, before the middle of next week, I'll have seen as many NP's as during THE WHOLE YEAR OF 2000! Could someone pinch me, I must be dreaming!
"I've seen as many as 7 or 8 NP's ON MY DAYS OFF! Not just this week, last week TOO! I need to buy an automatic developer otherwise my assistant will definitely go crazy! And if she goes crazy, I go crazy...
"I need more gowns, the trash cans need to be emptied daily, carpets need to be vacuumed daily, I need to install a credit card machine at the front desk because it's too dangerous to keep that much money in the office and it almost doesn't fit in a standard envelope anyway!
"My greatest reward, though, is to consider all the lives that are changed by the adjustment of their subluxations. I always knew that if I stuck to adjusting subluxations, tough times would end at some point. It HAD to be that way. Compromising that principle to make more money would have been just a temporary quickfix...and I keep telling people to avoid quickfixes. I had to hold to my faith and believe that God would shape me in the hardships and that He'd see me through. I refused to compromise my faith, I refused to compromise my chiropractic principles. Well, after 6 years of practice, time has finally proved my right!
"The song goes: "I'll get by with a little help from my friends..." Thanks for being a friend and making the package affordable. If you ever plan on retiring by marketting the KillerAds for what they're worth -- much more than the current price! -- let me know: I'll be there to help you! I'm urging all of my chiropractic friends (and foes if there are any) to get the KillerAd package and, most of all, use it! It will make a great name for chiropractic if everyone expose the truth about it!
"I thank God for putting you on my way and giving me the guts to give you a call and try the KillerAds out! Who knows if I'll ever put another ad out? But there's no way my wife will let me do that anytime soon... We've hardly seen each other for the past few weeks... Ha! We're still trying to adapt to this new situation: having more work than I can handle!
"It's just the beginning...
"Thanks again! "
"If the phone stopped ringing tonight, I'd still be thoroughly please with my
killermove. But there's about two and a half weeks of it left! I seriously think
that I'm dreaming and that I'm going to wake up soon... But it's for real and I
thank God for finally answering my prayers through this ad.
"To be continued...
"I'm excited. My wife's excited. My assistant is excited. My fill-in
assistant is excited. My patients are excited because the clinic is rocking.
I'm excited...
"Thanks again for sharing your experience and knowledge. Thanks for sharing
your tips and for answering my numerous e-mail in such a short time.
"To be continued... "
"Dr. Bob,
"The AD ran Mon. Jan. 22nd. I open at 8AM - the phone started ringing at
8:30! We have already scheduled 50 new patients! For 2 weeks following the AD I
could not go anywhere in this town without people coming up to me saying they
recognized me from the "article", that was kinda' fun. Thank you for allowing me
access to this wonderful tool to expand my influence in this community. I need
to say each and every one of the people that came in are wonderful, like brothers
and sisters - the way I've always dreamed my practice would be. Mine is a cash
practice and I work primarily with 12 month plans, my conversion ratio with AD
patients is equal to my conversion ratio from referral patients - this is
powerful stuff! I was very fortunate to have a pre-ceptor in my office (who is
finishing his term with me next week) to help with the processing of all the new
patients. Otherwise ours is a 1 doc/ 1 CA operation. I have hired a 2nd staff
person to start tomorrow so I can begin training her to assist with the
examination procedures for the next time that I run the AD.
"Here is my question, once my team is ready to roll again (& I was hoping
for early March), should I run THE SAME AD? Also, in your experience, could I
run this Ad up to 6 times in one year? Looking forward to your response. "
With gratitude,
Yours in Health
"The Killer ad (1st one) really worked. I did it like you said and had it
printed up as an insert. Finally got it printed up and in the daily and weekly
papers in mid-October. Had over 30 new patients as well as some inactive former
patients respond! October and November were the best months we’ve had this year!
"Thanks again! "
"We opened in April of last year and thanks to your ads after only 8 months
in our new practice we are averaging over 90 patient visits per week which for
us is fantastic. It took us almost 5 years in our Charlotte practice to see
that many.
"We feel your ads have been the key. We got 26 new patients from the local
paper insert, and we believe we may get even more if we try it in a smaller
gossip type newspaper that goes out on Sundays and Wednesdays. We're getting
ready to try one in February.
"Thanks again for everything!!! "
"The thing that amazed me most is that we had 3 families call and set up appts
for the whole family before ever meeting me.
"Thanks again "
"Thanks for the great ad! "
"People have been calling me about my experience with your ads, so I thought you
might want to give them correct information. If you recall, when I ran the ad the
first time back in November, it was actually in the newspaper because the space
was already paid for and we had 36 new patients (I think). Two weeks ago we ran
the same ads as an insert- 61 new patients so far. WOW!
"I ran out of x-ray film and chemicals. That's never happened in 20 years of
practice. Thanks again for what are truly 'Killer Ads.'"
"P.S. everything you said is true, people liked the picture, heading, and
just that it sounded sincere (which it was). Again my sincerest thanks. "
"Well done Bob and massive THANKS ! "
"We got our ad written, printed and run in our local paper in about a week's
time. I can say without reservation, your ad has been the best received
advertising that we have ever done! We had 39 new patients in two weeks with 37
of those following through on our recommendations. Each new patients brings in
about $1,200 to $1,800. Obviously the ad was not only successful in helping people
that may have not tried chiropractic care with a gentle nudge, but it has been
very rewarding financially as well.
"I have received many, many positive comments about the ad. Patients would
tell me that they have never seen a doctor so open and down to earth. They said
they felt like I was someone they could relate based on what they had read. I
cannot say enough good things about your ads. We plan on running another in a
few weeks and anticipate a great response again. Thank you putting the information
together and sharing it with the profession. "
"I'm very pleased with these results. My staff is excited and the overall
energy level at the office is way up. These are the kind of PV numbers that we
used to have, but the practice had dropped in volume over the past year.
"I'm planning running the ad again in September. I realize that I could
probably get higher NPs by lowering the first visit fee, but I intentionally
placed the fee toward the high end just to make sure our office wasn't overwhelmed.
I don't think we could have efficiently handled more than what we had. If the
numbers start to drop with future ads I'll possibly drop the fee and see if the
NPs go up.
" I owe a debt of thanks to Greg Jack of Capacity Management for suggesting
that I check out your ads. And obviously, I owe you a great big thank you as well.
YOU THE MAN!"
"Never seen anything like it before. we just saw over 500 visits past week
for the first time in 18 years. always wanted to do that. we're sending it out
once a month.
"Wondering if you have those (killer) recall letters ready to go.give
me a shout."
"
Hi Dr. Bob,
"Wish you the best,"
"Not that I am at all concerned with the names medicine has put on these -
but it's not back pain!!!!!!! You know what I mean? Bottom line - you're the man!"
"Thanks again for sharing you genius with me and the rest of the profession. It
really is a nice thing you are doing when a lot of the other consultants out
there are really taking advantage of the profession. Take care, and God Bless
and keep on getting sick people well! There are money grabbers out there charging
$895.00 to $1,300.00 for garbage in comparison to what you have. What you have
works! The nice thing it is simple and even for doctors who are shy will
still work. "
"My last E-mail gave you the results of my second running, 24 new patients. My
patient visits have jumped to 140 after the last running. I have you to thank
for the influx. THANK YOU!!! I just want to keep the momentum up.
Thanks again."
"So thanks again for all of your help... I am grateful that you have
exposed me to a congruent way to advertise my subluxation centered practice..."
